Guitar Truss Rod Covers
Many guitar players do not give much notice to their truss rod cover, but it can be a great part of the guitar to upgrade and customize. Usually this small piece of the instrument is just used by guitar manufacturers to display their trademarks and model numbers. The actual function of the part is to cover the opening that lets you adjust the truss rod in the guitar neck. Since no one really wants to see lame model number information on a plastic cover, the truss rod cover is a great part to have switched out for a customized one.
There are many sites online that offer truss rod covers in all shapes and styles. Most of the major guitar companies have their shapes copied by after market makers so it should be no problem to have yours swapped out and a new one put in. If you have an unusual guitar, you can have custom truss rods made, or you could even just order one and cut it down to size yourself. I would recommend going with a wooden one. Wood will actual help the sound of your guitar, though in a minimal way since its just a minor part near the top of the guitar.
